These arrived today after a small wait. I’m pretty happy even though the seller tried hiding by deleting the auction image that they’d sent the wrong doujin and swapped it out (have gotten in touch with the proxy about it.)

They’re all really cute. I wasn’t expecting the Yanmitu Clover doujin and am happy to own it since it’s one I’ve read the translated version for a few times online.

I’m excited for the Sinja anthology to arrive too. It looks super cute and it’s in full colour. Will have to wait a bit for that though.

Yesterday I came home to find that a Hamatora audio CD I had ordered arrived. It was the Hamatora Ratio. I love it so much. It has 4 tracks on and features 2 songs. It has Blues & Rise and Destination plus their instrumental versions. Both songs are sung by Yuichi Nakamura. There's also some neat little details to the CD such as behind the CD having a target to represent Ratio's ability, next to that it having "Minimum: Clairvoyance" (most likely the official name for Ratio's Minimum), the back stating that Blues & Rise is a character song directed at Birthday and the inside of the CD cover having the lyrics in even though they are in Japanese so I cannot read them.

Professor Oak begun starting me off in the world of Pokemon by introducing me to Pokemon, finding out my name and asking me what his grandson's name is. What a batty old man, your grandson's name is obviously Fartles.

I descend into the world of Pokemon to my room, small but not too shabby with it's SNES, television, computer, bed, randomly placed table and computer. I go downstairs to find my mum is sitting at the table. She doesn't seem to have a room of her own but that's totally okay. She tells me all boys (uh, mum) have to leave someday. She also tells me I have to go find Professor Oak now.

Time to meet the neighbors. There is a young girl outside my house who tells me she is also raising Pokemon so that when they get strong they can protect her. Good for her. Inside Fartles' house is his sister telling me that Fartles has gone to the lab. Fartles' sister is looking at a map. Outside near the lab I meet a rather obese man who tells me "Technology is Incredible!" What year is this? 1999? (Oh wait...) I decide that's enough sight-seeing and go inside the lab to be greeted by 3 of the lab assistants and then walk up to find... Fartles? He informs me that his gramps isn't there currently. I can see 3 Poke Balls seated comfortably on the table, it makes my curiosity rise to why the professor wanted me be here today. Exiting the lab gives me a crazy idea! I should be a bad trainer and run into the grass, that'll get Professor Oak's attention for sure!

My plan works. Oak tells me to exit the grass because it's unsafe. He then tells me I should come with him to get a new Pokemon so I have protection from danger. We return to a very impatient Fartles. Oak tells me a long boring story about how he used to be a trainer. Now to select my ball! I view the first Pokemon to the left of the table:

"Charmander -
Lizard Pokemon
Obviously prefers hot places. When it rains, steam is said to spout from the tip of its tail."

I then view the one in the middle:

"Squirtle -
Tiny Turtle Pokemon
After birth, its back swells and hardens into a shell. Powerfully sprays foam from it's mouth."

Last of all, I view the Pokemon to the right:

"Bulbasaur -
Seed Pokemon
A strange seed was planted on its back at birth. The plant sprouts and grows with this Pokemon."

I decide to go with Squirtle. It's nickname is Sqwool. Fartles decides to go with Bulbasaur to take advantage of my Pokemon's weakness. He tells me his looks way stronger and that I can't leave without a battle.

Both opponents send the Pokemon out to fight. Sqwool's only moves were Tackle and Tail Whip so there was no choice but to spam Tackle to win against Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur had used growl so many times it had almost rendered tackle useless for poor Sqwool though. The poor Squirtle with an almost non existant attack stat still managed to knock out the Bulbasaur, though and I won the battle against Fartles! Sqwool reached level 6 from this fight.

Fartles tried making an excuse he picked the wrong Pokemon but at the end of the day he was just a sore loser when it came to Pokemon battles.

This was how the beginning of my Pokemon journey went!
